  [GTCM006] UNCONDITIONAL UNKNOWN EP

In just a year, Get The Curse Music has managed to establish itself as one of the most remarkable labels in the world of underground club music. At the start of 2010, label head Clement Meyer’s debut EP on GTCM left its mark on devotees of techno of the dark and narcotic variety. One year later, he’s at it again. This year, Get The Curse firmly remains at the forefront of vanguard techno with a trail-blazing EP that sets the tone for what 2011 will sound like on the dancefloor. Never stuck in trends but always steering in the right directions, this is something Get The Curse is truly unconditional about. The only thing that remains unknown is the extent of the ensuing devastation…

A1- UNCONDITIONAL UNKNOWN

Clearly structured for maximum dancefloor impact, this A-side has all the makings of a hit. Yet another zombie anthem under Get The Curse’s belt, this dark stomper crafted in Clement’s signature style ticks all the right boxes thanks to a perfect balance of tense hypnosis and irresistible groove which will leave no mind or body unaffected. You thought that bass line was sinister? Just wait for the lead.

A2- IT’S ONLY PROGRESS ‘TILL THE END

On this dubby cut, the evil spirits haunting Meyer’s circuits take full control of the floor for an unstoppable free-fall to some very dark and groovy place. With a solid rhythmic structure as a backdrop and eerie pads setting the mood, Clement unleashes an hypnotic lead where delay is used to truly psychedelic ends. Relentless doesn’t need to be pounding to bring the dancefloor to its knees.

B1- UNCONDITIONAL UNKNOWN (PHEROX RMX)

He might not be the most prolific remixer out there, but boy does Pherox plug away to deliver unique reworks. This is one of his unmissable remixes, because it effortlessly resists any attempt of pigeonholing. Funky drum programming wraps around a sparse, EBM-reminiscent bass line as well as a sub-bass that is begging to be unleashed on a robust sound system. Sprinkle trippy vocal samples and a brilliant command of space and you’ve got a one-of-kind remix. Things are bound to get out of control when the recognizable lead from the original makes a late appearance.

B2- IT’S ONLY PROGRESS ‘TILL THE END (RAUDIVE RMX)

On his take of Its Only Progress Until The End Raudive has captured Clement’s dark bassline and unleashed it in machine funk territory. Injecting just a dash of tribal techno to this trippy deconstructed remix, Raudive relies on sparse programming to set the floor in motion while leaving enough room for the entreprising DJ to layer another beat. A bit of restraint goes a long way, and this brilliant remix is a case in point.
