This Saturday, his majesty Andrew Weatherall is giving us the privilege of featuring in our residency for the second time. As Get The Curse blog co-founder Lelo J. Batista once put it, the Englishman is responsible for “some of the hottest episodes of techno, rock, and most notably rock AND techno”. He was present at the beginning of the british punk movement, and he was heavily involved when house music and rave parties swooped down on Great Britain. Twenty years later, he’s ever so relevant, as he has shown with his first and excellent solo album in 2009, “A Pox On The Pioneers”, or his recent devastating back-to-back sets with fellow genre-defying DJ Ivan Smagghe.

Sao Paulo duo Click Box had already been rocking dancefloors with their explosive live sets for quite a few years before being spotted by Richie Hawtin and Troy Pierce in 2007, and subsequently joining prestigious label M_nus. They recently worked on Brasilian pop/rock stars Jota Quest’s album “La Plata” and saw their track “Ash” soundtrack a Konica-Minolta advert, which shows they’re able to make underground dance music reach out to a wider audience. Click Box’s sound extracts the best from both house and techno, while constantly trying to join the dots between past, present and future. And that’s precisely what we believe in at Get The Curse.
