Already supported by Andrew Weatherall, Maetrik,  Ivan Smagghe or Sei A, this is an essential addition to the collection of Djs into dark and spooky tunes that  leave no dancefloor indifferent. “A bucket of blood” is layered over a groove tougher  than reinforced concrete and bouncy martial beats,  surgical use of spaced-out effects gives a unique  sensation of movement to the track. Yet is Meyer  taking us up…or down? This ambiguity and constant  tension between catering for the body or the mind  make A Bucket of Blood a fantastic peak-time tool, a forward-thinking techno gem with a cheeky nod to  EBM pioneers. On the remix, Sian strips down the orginal groove; less pounding but still driving, it acquires an understated  melodic texture. With dark undertones, this clever remix is a truly hypnotic track with no concessions on  groove whatsoever, much more than a “light” version  of the original and not so far from the Panpot vibe.

With “Midnight madness”, Meyer’s signature combination of unrelenting, low-pitched ballsy bass and tweaky  high-pitched effects allow this spooky tech-house  banger to have grim consequences when unleashed on  the dancefloor. GTC partner in crime Olibusta delivers the remix and  adds his infamous old school touch to Meyer’s  original. His remix streamlines the groove and confers  a particularly efficient jackin’ dimension to the track.  This is a fantastic hybrid rife with moments of build-up  tension and ecstatic release, designed to induce booty  shaking seizures on the floor.
