So it’s been a year since my last podcast. It’s about time to deliver the goods once again; some groovy and jackin’ dance music in the spirit of what I’ve been rinsing in Londonistan during this foul year of Our Lord two thousand and eight.
During the last months, the overwhelming “deep minimal” vibe in the scene got me kinda annoyed, and so this is why the tracks in this mix are voluntarily more robust. These druggie gangsta grooves are on a perpetual mission to get jaws tight, asses shaking and why not some arms waved in the air at designated moments. Quite a few recent digs which you’ll discover or recognize but also a few classics like Everybody and Altes Testament.
While I was recording this mix, T-Bar was rockin’ for one last time before its final demise. In a sense, an important part of the jackin’ Gospel according to geeteecee just ended, but buey, it’s like that and that’s the way it is.

questionable it is whether the “deep minimal” vibe came out of the ugly side of italian electronica culture … music and people’s culture are correlated and beautiful music can ultimately be produced by beautiful minds … and when you are on the 10th “key”, you can’t really sense the crowd, philosophise over this sensation and produce in order to satisfy people … nice mix!

@criticalical: i hear you, Italian (but not only) key culture has invaded London big time and yeah, that scene is the darker side of deep minimal, it’s too bad because taken separately some of these tracks are amazing but just get lost in a sea of similar tunes…
