Passés un petit peu rapidement sur le cas Âme, il nous fallait nous fallait bien y revenir et nous attarder un peu sur les inspirations fascinantes d’une formation House qui a su innover comme personne ces dernières années. L’actualité s’y prête puisque leur mix Fabric sort ce mois ci, et qu’un album doit voir le jour dans la foulée. Voyons donc de quoi se nourrissent les auteurs du tube immortel, « Rej ». Kristian Beyer s’y colle cette fois ci.

Definitely my favourite pop album ever. The balance between pop songs and experimental tracks is perfect and my girlfirend and me can sing every line from his songs.This record touched us deeply in our souls.

We were listening to so many krautrock records,but this one stands out from all the others,maybe the first three kraftwerk and the first two ashra records can compete with this masterpiece from klaus dinger and Michael Rother. Spacemusic out of germany far infront of their time!

We discovered Moondog very late in our life but since then he is constant attendant in or household.he used to live his last 25 years
in germany on a farm somehwere in the middle of nowhere. A true genius and big inspiration for guys like steve reich and phillip glass.His use of horns had a big impact on our production too. He was well underrated and i hope we will remember this guy even in 100 years as one of the most impressive artist of the 20th century.

and said: ” i dont know where its coming from and who this guy is but its great music.” I was reading hte new dazed and confused magazin last week and surprisingly there was an interview with this mexican native singer in it. He retired in the early 70ies becuase a lack of success and started to work in daytime jobs.fantastic record which should everyone have at home
BEACH BOYS Surfs Up

I always thought the beach boys were boring pop singers from the 50ies and the 60ies,till i discovered Pet sounds and smile,but surfs up is till today my favourite record from them.If you listen carefully to this record and all the details in the background you can get a good picture form how great brian wilson was as a musician and songwriter. Pop musi on the highest level and also very futuristic for
that time.
HOLGER CZUKAY Hiss n listen

Can was probaly the most important band in germany alongide Neu! And kraftwerk of the last century. Holger czukay`s soloworks are also very good and this one is on hevy rotation for my lady,she loves the crazyness from mr czukay who was a student from stockhausen the famous modern composer from germany. I also like his later work with jah wobbble or david sylvian, but on this record he was on his peak to the wilderness and not to the normal:-)

Deep as the ocean and very abstract on the other hand.there is nothing better than drinking coffe in the morning with my girlfriend and reading neswpapers while listening to any of mr riley*s works.The most relaxing hours during the day.

and of course the one for my girl.

je ne comprends vraiment pas du tout ce qui peut plaire dans la musique d’Ame. je trouve ça chiant comme la mort, super aseptisé, même pas “sympa” dans le sens léger lounge du terme.
en revanche ils ont vraiment des supers goûts. Milton Nascimento mec!

si tu appelles super aseptisé quelque chose de super bien produit alors on est d’accord.
ils ont redonné un souffle nouveau à la deep house et à la tech house avec leur son si particulier.
et même si parfois ça manque un peu de renouvellement, leur son déchire.
en tout cas, super selection.

en tant que puriste relou pro-cainri je trouve vraiment pas qu’Ame fasse de la “deep house”
mais sinon oui évidemment c’est hyper bien produit, c’est peut-être même pour ça que c’est pas de la deep house comme j’aime avec plein de grain et des moments pas trop maîtrisés. c’est un truc très tech-house de super bien produire, non?

c’est toujours le problème des etiquettes, effectivement c’est assez eloigné de la deep house ricaine.
quoique, lorsque t’écoutes le “where we at version 3″ ( un de leurs meilleurs tracks, avec dixon et schwarz) du titre de derrick carter, les influences sont quand même bien présentes.

Moi la question que je me pose, c’est : pourquoi n’y a-t-il qu’un mec derrière les platines lorsque Ame est annoncé en DJ set (comme ce fut le cas pour la We Love de mars et pour la Tsugi d’avril) ???

Enfin je me permets un hors sujet : Who Killed Amanda Palmer ?
C’est le titre du 1er album solo d’Amanda Palmer, leadeuse des Dresden Dolls… Des ballades baroques et pop puissantes, jouées au piano et accompagnés d’instruments aussi bien acoustiques qu’électriques, vive la diversité maîtrisée, d’où un album accrocheur aisément écoutable d’une traite… Ca vient des trippes, c’est interprété avec du coeur rebel façon rock, et puis, Amanda Palmer sa vraie force c’est sa voix : niaqueuse à souhaits ! Le disque sort officiellement le 15 septembre, et je le conseille sincèrement à tous.

J’avoue que je suis fan de leurs prods et mixes mais lors de la we love (c’était celui à gauche sur la photo qui jouait) c’était vraiment abusé (grosse house commerciale) et il tabassait comme un malade très loin de la délicatesse à laquelle ils nous ont habitué. Etonnant…

I like Ame and certainly underestimated them but then came Fiori. Still if you look at the Wire from this month, you’ll find Rodriguez and Durutti Column on their free cd. Might be a coincidence… or not!

L’album “Clube Da Esquina” est un monument, direct dans mon top100. et on voit le nom d’Holger Czukay partout en ce moment, ça fait plaisir.
le Fabric 42 me plait de plus en plus; et le prochain album (octobre?) a une sacré gueule.

RE Rodriguez: he did not “retire” completely due to total lack of success: ‘Sugar Man’ off the Cold Fact album was a HUGE hit in South Africa (and Australia, I believe) and remains a cult classic ’til this day. In fact, its enormity has led to Rodriguez touring SA twice, although he seems to have seen better days in terms of his mental and physical capacities! (Fitting, I suppose, for an artist whose biggest hit is about “Sugar”, “Jumpers, coke, sweet Mary Jane… “).
From a GTC fan is South Africa who proudly got a 12″ copy of “Rej” signed by Kristian a few months back (and who once passed out during a Rodriguez concert!)
